RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
•Builds a positive relationship with students based on trust, caring, unconditional regard and individualstrengths and needs.•Develops and delivers group instruction in the areas of social and emotional education to all classes.•Supports school-wide systems of behavior and SEL.•Counsel at-risk students whose behavior, emotional, mental and academic progress need assistance.•Consult with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such astruancy and misbehavior, and to implement solutions.•Serve as a liaison between students, homes, schools, family services, child guidance clinics to addressstudents’ individual needs.•Collaborates with local community mental health providers.•Keeps current on methods and procedures concerning working with students having social andemotional needs.•Conduct Section 504 meetings for accommodation review and the distribution of plans for students’success.•Chair behavior RtI for Behavior Intervention Plans.•Possesses the skills to individualize programming and counseling to meet the needs of each student.•Creates and maintains safety plans for students in crisis.•Maintains regular attendance.•Other duties as assigned by the school Principal.
LICENSE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Licensed Social Worker or Counseling Degree preferred and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience insocial work or counseling.
•Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
•Operational knowledge of technology
•Possess strong oral and written communication skills
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
