Who are we looking for?

We pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. We understand that our financial operations are critical to our long-term success, and we are looking for a Controller who can bring both strategic insight and operational excellence to our team. This is more than just a job—it's an opportunity to shape the future of our company, lead a talented team, and drive cutting-edge process improvements in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Are you a seasoned CPA or assistant-controller looking for a dynamic opportunity to lead and make a tangible impact? Are you ready to leave public accounting behind or take the next big step in your career? Are you familiar with Lean Accounting, if not, are you curious to learn? If you're eager to work in an environment where your expertise in accounting and finance will directly influence our company's success and are not afraid to get your hands dirty, this is the perfect role for you.

In this role you will:

  • Financial Strategy & Operations: Collaborate with the VP of Finance and Administration to guide financial strategies, managing and mentoring the accounting and finance team to ensure robust, efficient, and aligned financial processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company standards.
  • Team Leadership: Develop a high-performing accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Enhancement: Lead initiatives to automate and enhance accounting processes, leveraging technology for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Budget Management: Develop and monitor the annual budget, providing actionable insights and recommendations through thorough financial analysis.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of internal controls, maintain compliance with regulations, and uphold proper segregation of duties.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead external audit coordination, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support business decision-making and drive financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA Certification: A must-have, with a solid foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance with a concentration in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Lean accounting is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Dynamics, Excel, ERP systems, and a keen interest in automation and technology-driven process improvements.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variable situations where limited standardization exists.

Why Make the Move?

  • Impact: Your work will directly influence the direction and success of our company. You’ll see the results of your efforts in real-time.
  • Growth: Opportunities to gain experience and test your metal are abounding.
  • Work-Life Balance: Unlike the demands of public accounting, we value a more predictable schedule without sacrificing professional challenges.
  • Innovation: You’ll have the opportunity to lead and implement technology and automation projects that will shape the future of our finance operations.
