Job Description – Information Destruction Specialist:

To provide on-site shredding services to our customers reliably, consistently, professionally, and on time. During our 90-day training process, you’ll provide paper shredding services to Aplus customers by learning and adhering to our route, customer, and operational servicing processes. Servicing our customers includes physically going into businesses or residences, retriever our shredding containers, shredding the paper on-site in our trucks, returning the container, and completing all paperwork with the customer. Throughout the 90-day training program, you’ll be evaluated on your performance as a potential candidate for driving and managing one of our trucks. You’ll be fully trained and compensated at a higher level if selected as a driver candidate.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

  • Execute paper shredding service calls/routes for company customers
  • Learn and follow the service call process successfully without disrupting the customer’s office
  • Access and accurately complete electronic work tickets consistently and timely
  • Evaluate and handle in-the-field situations required to complete daily routes on time
  • Learn all the shredding truck functions and how to operate it safely and successfully
  • Learn how to drive the truck within 90 days of the start date
  • Conduct truck safety checklist each morning before leaving the garage
  • Practice safe driving while following all road signs and traffic laws
  • Maintain cleanliness of the truck at all times (No trash in the cab or unwashed exterior)
  • Conduct recycling center runs to recycle shredded paper collected on the truck
  • Continuously hone your skills to improve personal effectiveness & contribution to the company
  • Professionally represent Aplus Paper Shredding while on the job or in company logo-wear
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to maneuver 250 lbs.; lift and carry boxes weighing 50 lbs. or more repeatedly
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive our shredding trucks
  • History of manual labor work experience
  • Proficient in math – addition, subtraction, and multiplication
  • Friendly, customer service and team-oriented
  • Available to work the day shift

  • Ability to problem-solve on the fly

Authority to Fulfill Your Role:

  • You have the authority to make decisions in the field to complete your responsibilities to servicing our customers, as long as your choices align with our processes, policies, standards, and culture. Specifically, these include:

o Conducting Customer Shredding Services

o Making in-the-field decisions to maintain route requirements and timing

o Protecting the shredding equipment and/or truck

o Following all company safety standards

o Completing all reporting requirements

o Operating the trucks properly and conscientiously

  • All decisions required to fulfill your role, outside of those identified above, must be brought to your IDs manager for discussion and joint decision-making.
  • After 90 days, you and your manager will mutually evaluate your progress, decision-making abilities, and job results and adjust accordingly.

Compensation for Role:

Compensation for this role starts at $19 per hour. The work hours are Monday – Friday, 40-hour week. Overtime, at the rate of time and half, will be paid for any hours of the work week above 40 hours. Pay periods are twice per month, on the 15th and the 30th. Additionally, for any pre-approved services you provide for the company using your personal vehicle, you will be compensated $.67 per mile. A Plus Paper Shredding will provide the following: business cards, laptop (if required), phone, work ticket software/app, company uniform, included logo wear, pants, and boots. Sick days are granted after 90 days of employment, and an IRA retirement plan is available after six months.
