Treasury Management Sales Officer

This position is responsible for driving business with new and existing customers through the sales of Treasury Management products and Bank solutions. Participates in customer calls with business development officers and branch managers. Provides pre and post-meeting customer support. Maintains a thorough knowledge of products and services to ensure that all customer needs are identified and met by making appropriate recommendations. Serves as a trusted advisor to our customers and community. Responsible for development and delivery of Treasury Management vision and strategy.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently and partner with officers to develop new and deepen existing customer relationships
  • Generate new business by identifying market opportunities through calls and referrals
  • Responsible for meeting sales goals for Treasury Management and Bank product and service cross-sales
  • Responsible for the development of target list of prospects using Bank and outside data sources
  • Perform product demonstrations and implementations over the telephone, in-person, or by email
  • Provide consultative services recommending operational changes and Treasury Management solutions to improve customer business operations
  • Drive new sales opportunities by determining customer needs and cross-selling Bank products and services
  • Deepen established customer relationships through regular check-in calls to ensure Treasury Management solutions are meeting their needs. Identify and implement additional solutions that will help customers improve business operations.
  • Participate in new customer onboarding
  • Gather and prepare materials for relationship reviews and RFPs

 

Department Management

  • Attends Officer Loan Committees
  • Actively participate in the sales planning process
  • Develop long term product vision and strategy for Treasury Management
  • Identify ways to enhance revenue and profitability through product bundling, pricing innovation, and marketing
  • Review current product/service pricing and recommend new fee schedule
  • Annually review existing customers’ pricing and make adjustments
  • Streamline and simplify the account opening and implementation process of products and services
  • Determine revenue and profitability projections for Treasury Management department and products
  • Assist with the development of sales materials, campaigns, enrollment forms, agreements, and product information

 

Industry Knowledge Enhancement

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge and serve as subject matter expert on system abilities, industry best practices, procedures, agreements, enrollment forms, and associated risks
  • Remain informed of new developments in Treasury Management
  • Understand competitor capabilities and gaps, and how to position Bank solutions against them

 

Reporting Results and Employee Education

  • Prepare monthly sales and pipeline reports to review with management
  • Educate and advise Bank employees on Treasury Management solutions
  • Identify and monitor appropriate metrics

 

Community

  • Maintain involvement in various community activities and organizations
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the communities served including new and established businesses
  • Develop and maintain a referral network with centers of influence

 

Risk Management

  • Understand and implement Bank policy, regulatory changes, and audit recommendations
  • Conduct customer and service risk assessments (limits, usage, activity, worthiness)
  • Review and ensure the completeness and accuracy of signed customer agreements, enrollment, and change request forms

 

 

Relationships and Contacts

  • Reports to SVP, Director of Retail Banking
  • Maintains strong relationships and collaboration skills with Business Development Officers, Branch Managers and Department Managers as needed

 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or communications field required
  • 5+ years Treasury Management experience with existing commercial relationships preferred
  • Strong sales skills and customer service experience
  • Ability to offer and demonstrate products and services to customers over the telephone, in-person, or by email
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Maintain involvement in a minimum of one community leadership or “high visibility” role
  • Strong Windows-based PC and software skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
