The Role
As the last person the customer sees, you will be responsible for professionally installing various hard and soft window treatments, including motorized/automated solutions. This role requires you to be a troubleshooter, adjusting the installation and finding a solution when necessary. You should have a customer service orientation and excellent communication skills. We’ll ask you to collect balances due, instruct the customer on how to operate and clean their new window treatments, make simple repairs, and always leave home better and cleaner than you found it. 


 Responsibilities
    •    Installation of all types of window treatments at residential and commercial job sites; products include   but are not limited to blinds, shutters, shades, draperies, and motorized window treatments. You will not be tasked with any installation by yourself where you haven't been given adequate training or information.
    •    Coordinate with the franchise owners to resolve any problematic installs or issues.
    •    Repair broken or damaged products and work with franchise owners to resolve issues as necessary.
    •    Measure homes and businesses for window treatments if the customer requests additional orders while on installation.
    •    Review a final checklist with the customer for warranty, review, and final payment. 
    •    Canvasing neighborhood with leave-behind materials
    •    Check-in freight, label, and organize the warehouse.
    •    Load and unload the work van on install days. 
    •    Clean and organize the van back at the shop after the work day. Dumpster at the warehouse to take        care of the day's trash. 
 

Qualifications
    •    Self-directed and able to work independently as well as with a team.
    •    Friendly, courteous, and pleasant with all types of people.
    •    Ability to learn and install new technology as introduced to the window covering and installation industry.
    •    Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    •    Written and verbal communication skills are critical when interfacing with all levels of Budget Blinds staff and clients.
    •    Current and valid driver's license and insurance.
    •    Punctual and dependable.
    •    Ability to pass a drug screen test and background check and have a clean driving record with no felonies.
    •    Ability to climb a ladder of all sizes - 8ft, 15ft, and 20ft.
    •    Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. The job also involves repetitive stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching above the head.
 

Nice to have
    •    Prior general carpentry/workmanship skills from any industry. 
    •    Experience working as an in-home installer is a plus.
