Talis Group’s client is a highly awarded healthcare company in multiple states with a large legal department.  They are hiring a Litigation Counsel for their Louisville location to actively manage all aspects of litigation, including overview of outside counsel.  This position will also collaborate with all departments to successfully identify and resolve potential risks.  The company offers collaborative and friendly hybrid culture with full benefit package (health, dental, vision, life, disability and 401K) with good salary and discretionary bonus.  If you have solid healthcare litigation and want to bring your talents in-house, this may be a great match for you.

Highlighted Duties:

  • Manage and defend general liability and personal injury claims.
  • Investigate potential and active litigation matters—interview witnesses, gather records, and organize case files.
  • Partner with outside counsel—evaluate case strategy, prepare discovery, attend mediations, and review pleadings.
  • Monitor legal spend—review outside counsel invoices and manage case budgets.
  • Draft legal documents including demand letters, settlements, and internal reports.
  • Mentor and collaborate with in-house legal professionals, including legal nurses and paralegals.
  • Provide legal training to staff on litigation awareness and prevention.
  • Stay current on federal and state laws impacting personal injury and risk exposure.

Highlighted Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, with a strong focus on injury law
  • Admission to the Kentucky Bar or ability to waive in
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple cases with professionalism, discretion, and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A team-first mindset and an adaptable, approachable personality.
