We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II who is eager to take ownership of key manufacturing initiatives, lead process improvements, and contribute to the continued growth of our operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to expand their technical expertise, gain exposure to cross-functional projects, and play a visible role in improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

In this role, you won't simply maintain existing processes. You'll have the opportunity to analyze, improve, and redesign them while working closely with production, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams. Your ideas and recommendations will directly influence how we manufacture and deliver our products.

This onsite position is based in New Albany, Indiana, reports to the Director of Operations, and serves as a key link between R&D and manufacturing. Working closely with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, the Manufacturing Engineer supports new product launches, process improvements, and production readiness at our manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico, and our Covington, Tennessee Distribution facility. This position provides exposure to process improvement, capital projects, and new product introduction, offering opportunities to broaden technical and operational experience while making a measurable impact on manufacturing performance.

Major Accountabilities

Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and engineering drawings.

Lead manufacturing readiness activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and facilitate successful transitions into production.

Analyze manufacturing data, workflows, and assembly methods to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

Ensure product structures, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation remain accurate and effective.

Monitor assembly performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency, product flow, and overall operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and revise Bills of Materials, product structures, engineering drawings, and work instructions while collaborating closely with production personnel and cross-functional teams.

Lead projects involving equipment justification, facility improvements, manufacturing redesigns, automation opportunities, and productivity enhancements.

Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and manpower assessments to support operational and strategic decisions.

Partner with production teams to evaluate current processes, eliminate waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.

Identify, research, and recommend new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing methods that improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

Implement approved process and equipment improvements while measuring and validating results.

Serve as a key contributor to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Collaborate with quality, safety, engineering, and operations teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges and drive sustainable improvements.

Participate in safety investigations, risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and workplace safety initiatives to create a safer work environment.

Education, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred); candidates with a minimum of six years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Proficient in Autodesk 2015, including both 2D and 3D applications.
  • Strong continuous‑improvement mindset with exposure to — or certification in — LEAN Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods working on a computer; role may also require frequent walking and/or standing.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
